Florfenikel 300 mg/ml
injectable solution

Composition 

Florfenicol 300 mg – Excipients up to 1 ml. 

Target species
Cattle and pigs. 

Indications:

Cattle:
For the treatment of respiratory diseases caused by Pasteurella multocida, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Micrococcus spp., as well as other infectious diseases of bacterial origin caused by microorganisms sensitive to florfenicol; for secondary bacterial infections; necrobacillosis; and infectious keratoconjunctivitis caused by Moraxella bovis.

Pigs:
For the treatment of bacterial diseases, including pleuropneumonia caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and/or Haemophilus parasuis; atrophic rhinitis caused by Pasteurella multocida and Bordetella bronchiseptica; and other bacterial infectious diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to florfenicol.

Dosage and mode of administration

To ensure a correct dosage body weight should be determined as accurately as possible to avoid underdosing. The vial cannot be broached more than 25 times. 

Pigs:
IM injection of 15 mg/kg body weight (1 ml/20 kg) into the neck muscle twice 48 hours apart. The volume administered per injection site should not exceed 3 ml. Subsequent injections must be given at different sites. 

Cattle:
IM injection of 20 mg/kg body weight (1ml/15 kg) into the neck muscle twice 48 hours apart. The volume administered per injection site should not exeed 10 ml. Subsequent injections must be given at different sites.
