Calcium Borogluconate Injection BP (Vet)
BOROCOL
(For Veterinary use only)
Composition:
Calcium Gluconate BP 20.75% w/v
equivalent to Calcium 1.86% w/v
Proportion of Boric Acid to
the Calcium in the injection is 2.26 to 1
Chlorocresol BP 0.1% w/v
(As preservative)
Indications:
A. Acute and chronic hypocalcaemia in cows , buffaloes, Ewes,
Goats, Sows and bitches
B. Extensively used in clinical and sub-clinical cases of milk
fever in cattle.
C. Prevention and treatment of drug induced liver damage .
Special precautions for use in animals:
It is desirable to warm the solution to body temperature before
injection by placing the bottle in a hot water bath .
Intravenous injection should be carried out slowly with pauses
to ascertain that heart beat is not being adversely affected.
The infusion should be checked for any suspended particulate
matter Avoid air bubble formation before starting the drip , to
avoid air thrombosis. Do not inject in animals showing pyrexia
and excitement
Target Animals:
Cattle, Sheep, Dogs, Ewes and bitches.
Dosage:
Heavy Animals: 450 ml., Cattle & Horses: 250 – 300 ml.
Sheep, Goats, Pigs: 60 ml., Dogs: 2 – 5 ml.
Administration :
For Intravenous and injected subcutaneously
in different places
Withdrawal Period: Nil
Storage:
Store protected from light and moisture
at a temperature not exceeding 30 C
