in chickens “Avivac ND”

Description:

Live dry vaccine against  Newcastle disease (ND) is prepared from strain  LaSota of ND virus. The vaccine is a pale yellow or pale brown homogenous dry porous substance that easily dissolves in water or physiological solution.

Indications for use:

One immunizing (nasal) dose of the vaccine contains 3,5 lg EID50 of IB virus and

solution.

Indications for use:

One immunizing (nasal) dose of the vaccine contains  6,5 lg EID50 of ND virus.

The vaccine is usable if its biological activity is not less than 8,5 lg EID50/cm3 for ND. The vaccine causes no clinically evident reaction or post-vaccination complication in chickens. The vaccine possesses no therapeutic Properties.

The bivalent vaccine is used for prophylactic immunization of chickens against infectious bronchitis and Newcastle disease.

Clinically healthy birds of all ages are subject to vaccination depending on the epizootic situation of IB and ND.

Birds are vaccinated twice at an interval of 10 to 14 days orally, intranasally, intraocularly or via coarse spray.

Intensity of post-vaccine Immunity is determined 14 to 21 days after the second vaccination by haemagglutination inhibition test or ELISA.

The vaccination is considered successful if, in 80% or more of the blood serum samples collected from the vaccinated birds, the average IB and ND antibody titres, if determined by ELISA, are at least twice the minimum positive value according to the user’s manual for the given diagnosticum. ND antibody titres, if determined by haemagglutination inhibition test, should at least be 1:8 (3,0 log2). If the antibody titres are lower than these critical values, Revaccinaition should be carried out.

Meat and eggs from vaccinated birds can be used for food without restriction.

Immunity:

Immunity develops within 14 to 21 days after the second administration of the vaccine and lasts 3 months.

Formulation:

The vaccine is available in 1 to 5 cm3 vials/ampoules. Each vial/ampoule contains 100-5000 doses.

Shelf life:

12 months if kept in a dark dry place at a temperature between 2 and 10oC.
