Detailed description
Description:
“Avivac-IBD” is prepared from virus-containing material of diverse origin (cell cultures, extraembyonic liquid, carcases and choryoallantois membranes of SPF chicken embryos) infected with a mild strain of Gamboro disease virus (“Winterfield 2512″).
The vaccine is a dry homogenous porous brownish pink substance that easily dissolves in water without formation of flakes or precipitate.
The titre of the vaccine virus should be not less than 4,0 lg EID50/cm3.
The vaccine has no side effects; it is safe and non-reactogenic at the dose recommended.
The vaccine possesses no therapeutic properties.
Indication for use:
The vaccine is used for prophylactic immunization of birds in farm units threatened or affected by Gamboro disease. Only clinically healthy birds should be subject to vaccination.
The vaccine is administered in drinking water to 7 to 15-day-old chickens twice at an interval of 10 to 14 days. Time of vaccination depends on the epizootic situation of IBD.
One day before administration, the volume of water consumed by one bird for 1 to 1,5 hours should be measured. The vaccine is then diluted so that this volume contains one dose of the vaccine.
The vaccine is dissolved/diluted in clean boiled water cooled to room temperature. To stabilize the virus, non-fat dry milk can be added to the diluted vaccine at a rate of 5% by weight. Water or equipment treated with disinfectant must not be used for vaccination. Birds should be kept without water for 2 to 3 hours. Feed and water may be given to the birds at least 2 hours after administration.
Meat from vaccinated chickens can be used for food without restriction.
Immunity:
Immunity develops 21 days after the second administration and lasts 6 months.
Formulation:
The vaccine is available in vials/ampoules containing 100 to 5000 doses. Other modes of packing are allowed if duly agreed upon.
Shelf life:
12 months if kept in a dark dry place at a temperature between 2 and 10°С.
