Solution for injection.<\/span>
\nSurfagon in 1 ml as an active ingredient contains (surfagon) alarelin acetate (in terms of alarelin) 5 or 10 mcg, excipients: sodium chloride, nipagin, and water for injection.<\/span><\/p>\n

In appearance, the drug is a colorless or slightly yellowish transparent liquid.<\/span>
\nThe shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions in the manufacturer’s unopened packaging, is 2 years from the date of manufacture.\u00a0After opening the vial, the unused drug cannot be stored.\u00a0It is forbidden to use the drug after the expiration date.<\/span><\/p>\n

Surfagon is produced packaged in 10 and 100 ml in glass bottles of the appropriate capacity, sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced with aluminum caps. Vials of 10 ml are packed in cardboard boxes of 20 pcs.\u00a0Each consumer package is supplied with instructions for use.<\/span><\/p>\n

Store the medicinal product in the manufacturer’s closed packaging in a place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 5 \u00b0C to 25 \u00b0C.<\/span><\/p>\n

Surfagon should be kept out of the reach of children.<\/span><\/p>\n

The unused drug is disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the law.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pharmacological properties<\/strong><\/p>\n

Surfagon ((D-alanil\u00a0<\/span>6<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0, des-glycylamide\u00a0<\/span>10<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0, L-prolylethylamide\u00a0<\/span>9<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0)-luliberin acetate) belongs to the group: hormonal agents, their analogues and antagonists (ATC vet code: QH01CA90).<\/span><\/p>\n

Surfagon is a synthetic analogue of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) – luliberin. Competitively binds to the receptors of the cells of the anterior pituitary gland, causing, like other GnRH analogues, a short-term increase in the level of sex hormones in the blood.\u00a0The increased content of gonadotropins in the blood persists for 3 to 4 hours after administration, then the content drops rapidly.\u00a0The half-life of surfagon is the same as that of natural luliberin.\u00a0During this time, the peptide breaks down into amino acids and is excreted from the body.<\/span><\/p>\n

Application procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n

Surfagon is used for:<\/span>
\n– early induction of the sexual cycle;<\/span>
\n– treatment of hypofunction and follicular ovarian cysts;<\/span>
\n– prevention of early embryonic mortality;<\/span>
\n– increasing the fertility of female farm animals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Contraindication for use is the individual hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug.<\/span><\/p>\n

When working with Surfagon, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety precautions provided for when working with drugs. People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with the drug.\u00a0Do not drink, smoke or eat while working with the drug.\u00a0At the end of work, hands should be washed with warm water and soap.\u00a0Vials from under the medicinal product must not be used for domestic purposes, they must be disposed of with household waste.<\/span>
\nIn case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eye, they must be washed with plenty of water.\u00a0In case of allergic reactions or in case of accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for using the drug or a label with you).<\/span><\/p>\n

The drug can be used in cows for 9 days after artificial insemination, in the subsequent period of pregnancy, the use of the drug is prohibited. The drug is not allowed to be used in pregnant sows, ewes, as well as in young animals.<\/span><\/p>\n

For early induction of the sexual cycle in cows, Surfagon is administered once at a dose of 50 mcg on days 8-12 after calving. Despite the arrival of animals in the hunt, they are inseminated no earlier than 60 days after calving.<\/span>
\nFor the treatment of a mild form of ovarian hypofunction in cows, Surfagon is administered twice: the first time – on the 8-12th day of the sexual cycle at a dose of 50 mcg, again – after 10 days at the same dose.<\/span>
\nWith a more pronounced form of ovarian hypofunction, on days 1, 3 and 5, 10 ml of a 1% oil solution of progesterone is administered intramuscularly, and on the 7th day – Magestrofan\u00a0<\/span>\u00ae<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0at a dose of 2 ml and Surfagon at a dose of 50 mcg.\u00a0Animals are inseminated as they come into the hunt.<\/span>
\nFor the treatment of follicular cysts, Surfagon is administered three times with an interval of 24 hours to cows at a dose of 20-25 mcg, to heifers 15-20 mcg.\u00a0Cows can be administered once intravenously at a dose of 50 mcg.\u00a0On the 11th-13th day after the first administration of the drug, Magestrofan\u00a0<\/span>\u00ae<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0is administered intramuscularly at a dose of 2 ml.\u00a0Animals are inseminated as they come into the hunt.<\/span>
\nIn case of two or more infertile inseminations of cows on the 11th day after the last coming into heat, Magestrophan\u00a0<\/span>\u00ae<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0is administered intramuscularly at a dose of 2 ml, and after about 70 hours Surfagon is administered at a dose of 50 mcg and the animals are inseminated as they come into heat.\u00a0Cows that did not come into heat are re-treated with Surfagon at a dose of 50 mcg.\u00a0Animals that come to hunt are inseminated.<\/span>
\nTo prevent early embryonic mortality in cows, Surfagon is administered on days 3, 5 and 9 after insemination at a dose of 20-25 mcg.<\/span>
\nTo increase fertility and synchronize ovulation, 600-800 IU of Follimag\u00a0<\/span>\u00ae<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0is administered to sows 24-48 hours after weaning .\u00a0After detection of heat, before insemination, Surfagon is administered at a dose of 10 mcg.\u00a0Insemination of sows is carried out according to the instructions.<\/span>
\nTo stimulate the development of the reproductive organs of replacement pigs, 60 and 30 days before planned insemination, use Surfagon 10 mcg or Pigulin * 1 dose per animal.<\/span>
\nTo increase the fertility of ewes, the drug is administered once at a dose of 15-20 mcg.\u00a0Artificial insemination is carried out after 12-14 hours.\u00a0After 12 hours, the animals are re-inseminated.<\/span><\/p>\n

When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not observed. In the event of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is stopped and antihistamines and symptomatic therapy are prescribed to the animal.<\/span><\/p>\n

There were no cases of overdose with Surfagon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Surfagon must not be mixed in the same syringe with other drugs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Features of the action of the drug during its first use and when it is canceled were not identified.<\/span><\/p>\n

In case of an accidental increase in the interval between two injections of the drug, it should be administered as soon as possible in the same dose and according to the same scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n
