DESCRIPTION<\/b><\/p>\n
Following intramuscular or subcutaneous injection of Iron 100 Inj., the<\/p>\n
haemoglobin-concentration in the blood and packed cell volume increase<\/p>\n
rapidly, especially in iron deficiency anaemia in animals. Most piglets are<\/p>\n
born with minimum iron reserves, and after a few days the red blood cell<\/p>\n
production begins to decrease and a deficiency in the overwhelming<\/p>\n
growth of the young animals is noticed. Therefore it is very important to<\/p>\n
supply this depletion of iron for normal growth and development of the young<\/p>\n
animals. It has been proved that a dose of 2 ml given within the first 3 days of birth shows no loss of weight or health.<\/p>\n
Iron supplement should be given as injection as a prophylactic aid to prevent iron deficiency anaemia and the consequences<\/p>\n
(loss of appetite, diarrhoea, retarded growth, and diminished resistance against infectious agents and in changing the of<\/p>\n
atmospheric conditions).<\/p>\n
INDICATIONS<\/b><\/p>\n
Iron 100 Inj. is indicated for prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anaemia in piglets, calves, foals, pigs, cattle,<\/p>\n
horses, sheep, goats and dogs. It is especially necessary in newborns and animals in anaemic conditions.<\/p>\n
Secondary anaemia due to parasitic and bacterial infections, stress conditions (also due to transport), for the betterment<\/p>\n
of breeding and growth of young animals, as supporting treatment of infectious diseases and in blood loss.<\/p>\n
CONTRA-INDICATIONS<\/b><\/p>\n
Vitamin-E deficiency and\/or selenium deficiency in piglets are prevalent because of increased chance of toxicity.<\/p>\n
SIDE-EFFECTS<\/b><\/p>\n
Iron 100 Inj. may cause pain and inflammatory reactions, along with discolouration of muscles. Sometimes anaphylactic<\/p>\n
reactions may occur. Administration of very high doses may cause siderosis, intoxication with hypotonia, shock and<\/p>\n
even death.<\/p>\n
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION<\/b><\/p>\n
For deep intramuscular or subcutaneous injection at a suitable injection site.<\/p>\n
Treatment:<\/p>\n
Pigs : 3 \u2013 5 ml 1st injection, when necessary 2nd injection 7 days later.<\/p>\n
Piglets : 1 \u2013 2 ml on 3rd day of life and on 5th day of life.<\/p>\n
Cattle and horses : 5 \u2013 8 ml 1st injection, when necessary 2nd injection 7 days later.<\/p>\n
Calves and foals : 3 \u2013 8 ml in the 1st week of life, when necessary 2nd injection 7 days later.<\/p>\n
Sheep and goats : 3 \u2013 4 ml 1st injection, when necessary 2nd injection 7 days later.<\/p>\n
Dogs : 0.5 \u2013 2 ml 1st injection, when necessary 2nd injection 7 days later.<\/p>\n
Prophylaxis:<\/p>\n
Piglets : 2 ml on 3rd day of life and on 21st day of life.<\/p>\n
Sows : 5 ml two weeks before farrowing.<\/p>\n

None.<\/p>\n
STORAGE<\/b><\/p>\n
Store in a dry, dark place between 15 \u00b0C and 25 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n
