Detailed description

DESCRIPTION: Homogeneous  transparent  viscous yellow liquid.

PHARMACOLOGICAL  CHARACTERISTICS: Gel Oftalmostar – combined drug which includes ivermectin, tylosin  tartrate  and  xeroform.  Antiparasitic  component ivermectin enhances communication of GABA (gammaaminobutyric acid) with special receptors on nerve endings of parasites by blocking ofnerve impulsesthat leads to the death of larval and mature stages of nematodes (including family Thelaziidae), Acariformes (families Demodecidae,  Psoroptidae,  Sarcoptidae)  and  winged  insects (Muscidae). Tylosin tartrate is active against many types of  microorganisms  and  their  associations: Mycoplasma spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Rickettsia spp.and others. Together with antiseptic xeroformom tylosin inhibits the development of secondary infection. In addition, xeroform has anti-inflammatory and repellent effects.  Total  synergistic  properties  of  the  components  of the  drug  determine  its  antibacterial,  anti-inflammatory, nematoid, acaricidal, insecticidal and repellent activities.
