Forticlina retard
Long-Acting Oxytetracycline
Pharmaceutical Form
Injectable solution.
Composition per ml
Oxytetracycline 200 mg.
Indications
Treatment of germs sensitive to oxytetracycline, which cause
infections such as:
Cattle: pneumonia, shipping fever, pododermatitis, bacterial
enteritis, actinobacillosis, omphalitis, metritis, mastitis, infected
wounds and anaplasmosis.
Pigs: pneumonia, bacterial enteritis, heamorrhagic septicaemia,
erysipelas and MMA syndrome.
Sheep and goats: pneumonia, chlamydia infections, metritis,
mastitis, foot rot, omphalitis and infected wounds.
Administration Route
Deep intramuscular injection.
Dosage and administration
Cattle: 1 ml per 10 kg body weight. Do not apply more than 10 ml
in the same injection site.
Pigs: 1 ml per 10 kg body weight by deep intramuscular injection.
Do not apply more than 5 ml per injection site. In piglets smaller
than 10 kg administer 1 ml per animal subcutaneously.
Sheep, Goats: 1 ml per 10 kg body weight. Do not apply more
than 5 ml per injection site.
At the indicated dosage the therapeutic level stays in blood for
3-4 days. Therefore there is no need to repeat the treatment
unless the veterinarian ask to do so.
Withdrawal period
Meat: 22 days.
Milk: 5 days.
Shelf-life period
3 years.
Storage
Store in a cool, dark place.
Supply
Vials of 100 ml and 250 ml.
